A celebration of the cherry blossoms along the towpath in downtown Akron on Saturday night. The trees were just beginning to bloom. The lanterns placed by Downtown Akron Partnership added a nice touch to the festive atmosphere. It was lovely to see masked people enjoying the evening. I know there were smiles under those masks.Continue reading “3 April 2021”

A little close encounter with one of my succulents. This one is about 3 years old. I love its colorful tips and this tiny baby growing out of the side of the pot. listening to: Cold Hugs by Peter and Kerry

Today we drove a bit south to Holland, Michigan. What a charming little town. First, we visited Windmill Island Gardens. It is home to that gorgeous windmill, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States, grinding locally-grown wheat into flour. I introduce you to the family and give a little glimpse into my week “getting stuff done in the downtown.” That’s a little jingle that I like to sing while Greg and IContinue reading “Week 2 of 2019”
Week 1 of 2019
The new year has begun with dumpster balloons. The adventure continues with blimps, walks around downtown, seeing friends, great food and so many lattes. My goal for this year is to update my blog weekly. You’ll see many of the same photos that I share on Instagram and Twitter, hopefully with more of a storyContinue reading “Week 1 of 2019”
